Joseph B. Silberman, DMD, MAGD

Dr. Joseph B. Silberman, principal of Evanston Dental Associates, was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Boston University in 1985, graduating with honors. After practicing dentistry on New York’s Upper East Side, Dr. Silberman moved to Illinois to begin a family with his wife Renee. He has been an Evanston dentist since 1992 and was the first General Dentist on the North Shore to incorporate using a microscope while treating his patients.

Dr. Silberman is committed to staying up-to-date on the latest advances in dental treatments and techniques through ongoing continuing education. In addition to completing the curriculum offered by the world-renowned Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, he has completed courses in periodontics (gums), orthodontics (braces), occlusion (bites), endodontics (root canals), dental sleep medicine (apnea), implants, and cosmetic dentistry.

In July of 2022, he was awarded a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry which is a credential reserved for dentists who have taken 1100 hours of continuing education, 400 of which need to be hands on coursework. Only 2% of US and Canadian dentists have achieved this status. He is very proud to have received this award. Dr. Silberman is on staff at Evanston Hospital where he instructs dental residents on procedures and treatment options so they can be the best dentist they can be.

Dr. Silberman and his wife, Renee, are blessed with 4 sons, 1 Daughter-In-Law (Dr. Adina) and 2 wonderful granddaughters. Their family hobbies include sports, gardening, FaceTiming and babysitting whenever possible!

Dr. Joseph Marsek

Dr. Joseph Marsek joined Evanston Dental Associates in 2021. He is skilled, compassionate, and dedicated to practicing dentistry at the highest standard of care for his patients.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, Dr Marsek is continuing his education at Miami’s Pankey Institute. The Institute focuses in depth studies on understanding and mastering both the technical and behavioral aspects of dentistry. Dr Marsek is also a member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners Invisalign Study Club where he aims to learn with area dentists to excel in alignment procedures.

While in dental school, Dr. Marsek obtained valuable clinical experience while caring for a wide variety of patients, including the underserved Medicaid community. His time in the clinic affirmed his passion for making a difference in patients’ lives through dental care. His call to serve the public was exemplified when he received the Brian D. Stone Memorial Award for excellence in volunteerism and community service.

Dr. Marsek enjoys restoring teeth to their optimal esthetics whether it be straightening with clear aligners, fixing a broken tooth, or elective cosmetic dentistry. He loves the opportunity to give patients a great smile which adds to their oral health and confidence.
From the moment Dr Marsek met the Evanston Dental Associates team, he knew he found an office that strives for the best in patient comfort and care, which is exactly why Dr Marsek entered the dental field.

In his free time, Dr. Marsek enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, going to museums, making corny jokes, and spending quality time with family and friends. Dr. Marsek is very excited to be a part of the team and can’t wait to serve the Evanston Dental community.

“I am so happy to be part of the EDA team. The office provides the care and quality that I strive for and having Dr. Silberman as my mentor is something that I value. I look forward to meeting all of you”.

WE LOVE TO SEE OUR PATIENTS SMILE

"The best way to describe Dr. Silberman is to say he’s an artist. The more complicated the problem is, the more of a perfectionist he becomes. I’ll say, ‘It’s fine, it’s fine,’ and he’ll say, ’No, it can be a little better.’"
