We also check under and at the back of your tongue for anything unusual. Oral cancer is on the rise due to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). There are approximately 14 million new cases of HPV yearly, and it is the leading cause of oropharyngeal cancer.
At every hygiene visit, we use OralID, a quick and painless light technology that helps us spot anything unusual that might not be visible to the naked eye. We carefully check all the soft tissues in and around your mouth, including under and at the back of your tongue to make sure everything looks healthy.
